My road is broken and the path to my success is not clear.
I don’t think anyone’s path is ever clear regardless of success or failure. I have decided to document my online success, failures & frustrations here.
It actually started back in 2011, when I started to figure out a way to make some extra cash while driving a truck long distance in the United States and Canada.
2014, 2015 and 2016 were especially tough as I had a major illness, had to take time off work, moved and had to find another job in a foreign country.
This last year of finding myself on the road and off. Having been dissed, and fired (over a service dog no less). I was still a driver, without employment and fighting through some depression. I had to file a court case which I eventually won – well, they settled, so that’s still a win. Then back to work as a driver and now, finally, owner-operator again.
No one gains success by giving up.
Anyway, through all of it, I kept thinking to myself that there has to be a better way to earn a living (maybe not, I do LOVE trucking) or at least get another stream of income going.
Well, I know what you are thinking…
If you are a trucker, I seriously know what you’re thinking. Here’s the deal though – after being on the road through all the ups and downs, twists and turns, time off for various illnesses, stress, anxiety, etc., most truckers have nothing to live on for retirement. I mean retirement for most isn’t even an option. I know drivers in their 70’s that just can’t quit and several factors come into play in this equation. Most of the time it’s because it has cost so much to raise a family, pay for college tuition, etc. that truckers just haven’t put into retirement savings. Also, trucking has the highest turnover rate of any profession and believe me, retirement plans are the last things on Trucking companies minds when it comes to their trucking manpower. So, a big result is truckers that basically work until they die. As the saying goes, If the Wheels Ain’t Turnin – You Ain’t Earnin.
I decided to find a better way. I have been out on the road for roughly 31 years now and I’m finally to the point of having several income streams other than trucking to take care of me in my later years. Now, I may be out here trucking it up when I’m 70, I don’t know. What I do know is, I don’t HAVE TO be out here trucking at 70. That changes the scenery through the windshield a whole hell of a lot more than you would think.
So, since you are probably looking for a way to make extra income and don’t have a lot of spare time –
join me here on the Road to Financial Freedom and you can see how someone who works 80 hours a week as a regular job and is traveling literally ALL the TIME, figured out how to make some serious extra cash!
P.S. You can do this if I can… Remember, we all start at the beginning – not the end. Making extra cash in a few minutes a day can be:
